<p>Empty lots providing the space for murals are disappearing across many DC locations. &nbsp;<a href="http://wamu.org/programs/metro_connection/12/01/27/the_location_the_story_behind_u_streets_black_family_reunion" target="_blank">Check out the story</a> behind the <a href="http://www.ncnw.org/events/reunion.htm" target="_blank">Black Family Reunion</a> mural next to the vacant Latino Auto Sales lot on the southeast corner of 14th Street and Florida Avenue NW. &nbsp;DC-based artist Byron Peck, who spoke at MHNA's October 2008 meeting, painted the mural, with sponsorship from the <a href="http://www.nbmoa.org/" target="_blank">National Black McDonalds Operators Association</a>,&nbsp;in 1984.
